All drivers must be present on collection of the vehicle and must bring with them:

  • Their photo card driving licence. If the driving licence is a non photo card, paper licence we also require a valid passport. Please note that we must be notified one working day in advance if the hirer holds a foreign drivers licence. Foreign licence holders or hirers with a non UK address must also bring a valid passport.
  • Some recent proof of address, e.g. utility bill or bank statement.  This must be dated within the last three months.
  • Their driving licence CHECK CODE which can be retrieved from https://www.gov.uk/view-driving-licenceThis code is used by us to check your licence for any points or convictions.

Yes. The minimum deposit is £200. The deposit is payable on collection of the vehicle. This must be paid on a credit or debit card in the drivers name. 

The hirer must take out the excess protection (CDW) to enable a £200 deposit. If no CDW (collision damage waiver) taken, the deposit payable will be £500. For more details on CDW please see further questions below.

Deposits are released (less any additional charges including fuel, damage etc.) once the vehicle has been returned, re-fuelled and inspected. We aim to release funds within 2 working days of return. It is then down to your bank to how long they take to process this. Most high street banks process within 2-5 working days, whereas online banks such as Starling, Monzo, Chase etc. can take much longer; sometimes up to 30 days. 

Yes, we operate a 24 hour drop off facility. You can return your vehicle outside of office hours as long as it’s within your agreed rental period as stated on your rental agreement. We have a secure key drop box. The rental vehicle can be parked on site and the keys left in the secure box.

Please note that vehicles dropped off outside of opening hours remain the responsibility of the hirer until they are seen and checked by a member of staff.

Yes.

And the vehicle doesn't have to be returned with a full tank. When the vehicle is returned we refill it. If the refill is less than 2 litres, we credit back the full deposit to the hirers card (subject to there being no additional charges).

Any fuel over 2 litres, the cost is deducted from the deposit and the remaining balance refunded.

We only charge standard fuel pump prices for fuel. We do not penalise or charge any admin fee to customers that don't return vehicles with a full tank.

 

Full payment must be made on a credit or debit card in the hirers name. We don't accept American Express, Switch or Visa Electron cards. We also do not accept cash or cheques.

Everything except the deposit. It includes fully comprehensive insurance for one driver, breakdown cover, unlimited mileage and VAT. The hirer can pay more in order to reduce their insurance excess liability. Please phone or email for more information. This is explained further below.

Insurance for additional drivers is charged at £5 per day per driver. All drivers must bring the relevant documentation (see question 1.) and be present upon collection of the vehicle.

In the event of any damage or theft claim on the vehicle or any third party claim made against our insurance policy the hirers excess liability is £1000. For non-UK licence holders the excess is £2000. For hirers aged 21-24 the excess is £1500.

The hirer remains responsible for punctures and negligent damage (e.g. kerbed wheels or tyres, damage to upholstery, cigarette burns, damage to aerials and mirrors etc.) The hirer is responsible for any mechanical repairs caused by failure to heed warning lights and gauges. Damage to any vehicle above windscreen height is the full responsibility of the hirer.

We offer excess protection (CDW) where the excess amount can be reduced down to £300 – rates vary, but as an example; a large van for one day CDW would be £12 or a car for one day CDW would be £8.

An SP30 with 3 points is acceptable.

If the drivers have any other points/endorsements on their driving licence from with the last 5 years they will need to call and notify us prior to the rental. 

 

Drivers of 17 seat minibuses need to have category D1 on their driving licence.

Hirers need to be aged between 21 & 75. If under 25 restrictions apply. Drivers over 75 are unable to hire from us.

The daily hire period is calculated on a 24 hr basis, usually from 8am or 5.30pm. Rental times can be adjusted to suit individual needs subject to availability

Yes. We have a number of parking spaces available. These are available on a first come first served basis and vehicles are left at the owners own risk. Road side parking is available very nearby.

If you are arriving by train, we are just a 5 minute walk away from the station but will be happy to collect you and bring you to our offices.

Yes, these items are free of charge and available on request subject to availability. We also supply sack trucks if needed.

Yes, our Transit Tipper, SWB (short wheel based) vans & 4x4's have tow bars. Please call or email our office to request these.

No. Vehicles must be collected and returned from our site at Carleton Business Park, Skipton.

If you wish to cancel your booking within 48 hours of your rental, you will incur a cancellation charge. If you cancel within 24 hours you will be charged for a full days rental, within 24 hours - 48 hours you will be charged £20. If we received no notification of cancellation, one days rental cost will apply.

Yes, just call us when you arrive and we'll be there to collect you as soon as we can. We can collect from anywhere in Skipton with prior arrangement.

Please notify us of this at least 24 hours before your rental. You will need to ensure you bring your full drivers licence plus your passport.
